Essential oils can be a dog’s best friend! They are a welcome advantage to many dog ailments. A huge money saver too, compared to vet bills, dog medicine, and the like. There are many essential oils that can be used in treatment for dogs, and other pets too. I have two Doxies, so I will talk about dog treatments here.
My little Buddy has what appears to be seasonal allergies, especially spring time allergies. March is a terrible time for little Buddy’s allergies. He started itching and scratching everywhere, and it just got worse. We gave him children’s benadryl which helped a little. After a while though, we just couldn’t keep giving him the benadryl as we weren’t seeing that much improvement.
My mind immediately went to essential oils. I did a little research, made up a little remedy and hoped for the best. I used Spark Naturals LLP Blend. This is a blend of Lemon, Lavender and Peppermint that when mixed equally makes a wonderful allergy blend. Just so happens LLP Blend is the oil of the month and good timing for that! It’s a wonder/miracle blend during the spring (any time really).
I made up my spray and misted Buddy all over. Immediately the scratching stopped! I couldn’t believe it. He had immediate relief. His little eyes brightened up and he started running around playing again…no scratching! I sprayed him about twice a day, or when he started to scratch again which usually was about every 8 hours or so.
Below is my recipe for Doggie Allergy Relief.
